Centre Philosophy

We believe children best through play- based learning. We use the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework to guide all our curriculum decisions.

We believe children’s wellbeing is paramount. We work with Child Safe Standards, Regulations and policies to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Children learn best when they have a sense of belonging and connection. To achieve this, we will work in partnership with families to create a culturally safe environment for children, families and staff.

We believe in a rich learning environment; we see the environment as the ‘Third teacher’. As a team, we provide meaningful and intentional experiences for children as well giving access to high quality resources and interactions. We see indoor/ outdoor environments are of equal value.

All children are valued, celebrated and respected. We recognise that individual children have different life experiences, strength and abilities. We develop a program that supports inclusion of all children and includes the development of respect for each other.

To build a sense of belonging in the community, we make connections with other Early Childhood professionals, local Primary schools, and other people in our community to build ties to support community spirit.

We value the First People of Australia. We demonstrate this by our commitment to ongoing professional development and including First People of Australia perspectives and learning into the kindergarten program.

We are committed to the implementation of quality contemporary education for children and families.  We achieve this by accessing professional development opportunities and ongoing reflection and further developing our skills in critical thinking.

We are continuing to build on our current sustainability practices. We would do this by developing our program by extending on children’s current understandings and recognising their own individual impact upon the land and earth.
