Dean Mizzi - Treasurer
Dean is a Chartered Accountant and the Head of Business Performance for a large global law firm headquartered in London, where his primary focus is the financial sustainability of the organisation in the Asia-Pacific region. He is the chair of BPA's Finance and Risk Committe and also our Treasurer.
Courtney Pelle - Secretary
I joined the Brimbank Preschool Association (BPA) Board as an interested parent; wanting to give back something to the organization.
All three of my children have attended a BPA kindergarten over the last 5 years and it has been a very rewarding time in our lives. I have a background in nursing which I still manage to fit in some shifts and keep my hand in.
This is my first position as a board member, and I am currently studying a Certificate in Governance. I am enjoying the role of board secretary and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead being a BPA board member in the changing early childhood sector.
Kerry French - General Member
Kerry has 30 years of international business experience, including roles as General Manager and Senior Director leading global and cross functional committee's and teams. She currently serves on the nominations board subcommittee for a sporting association.
Kerry holds a Bachelor of Business in Marketing from Monash University, has completed the Foundations of Directorship Certificate with the AICD and is a Certified Chair with the Advisory Board Centre.
Wendy Seidler - General Member
I have been involved in the education, health and welfare of young children for over 40 years. I have taught in Australia, in both government and private sector as well as overseas in international school, schools for the deaf and in hospital’s both here and abroad. I have worked in early intervention and lectured at a tertiary level. Working with children and their parents is always a partnership.
I am currently the director of early childhood at an independent school where I was the founding director and am celebrating my 30th year there this year .
I have a passion for excellence in early childhood education and believe all children are entitled to the best opportunities and best educators . I have been delighted to join the BPA board and support the development of the board and their future planning .
I enjoy travelling, walking on the beach with my dog , reading , cooking and entertaining.
Duy Nguyen - General Member
Duy is an experienced Project Manager with over 15 years in technology, having worked across government, education, and non-profit sectors. In recent years, he has expanded his expertise to include cybersecurity, focusing on risk management and network security to help businesses safeguard their digital assets.
Outside of work, Duy enjoys traveling, spending time with his energetic twins, and catching up with family and friends. He’s excited to contribute to BPA’s mission and help shape the future of early childhood education.
Alainnah Calabro - General Member
Alainnah is a Victorian public sector executive with over 10 years of experience, specializing in strategic advice and policy reforms. She joined the BPA Board as an interested parent. Alainnah holds a Bachelor of Arts/Laws (Honours) from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. She is also admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Marty de Bruyn - General Member
Marty has a 20-year career in the Commonwealth Government and currently leads risk management, business continuity, internal audit, and fraud control functions. He has extensive experience in enhancing and maturing corporate governance arrangements. His boys have attended BPA centres for the past 12 years.
Lana Chung - General Member
I'm excited to be joining BPA as an interested parent in late 2024. This is my first position as a board member. I have almost 10 years' experience working in the Victorian public service, and currently I work for a statutory body within the Department of Health. I also hold a Doctor of Philosophy from the Department of Social Inquiry at La Trobe University. When I'm not enjoying life with family and friends, you’ll find me pottering in my garden listening to a good podcast.
