Statement
South Sunshine Kindergarten strive to provide an environment in which young children, families and the community are valued, respected and included.
Children
The Kindergarten program aims to provide high quality care for all children. We recognise that every child has the right to grow, learn and be challenged at a pace that suits their individual developmental needs in an environment that is warm, friendly and supportive. We aim to achieve the best outcomes for every child, resulting in children reaching their full potential in a range of developmental areas and embedding the skills and love for lifetime learning.
Program
By providing a program which fosters and extends the inquisitive nature of each child we are able to plan stimulating and engaging play based learning which caters for each child’s needs. We believe in the importance of play and creating inspiring environments which support children’s natural curiosity, exploration, creativity and expression to enhance their learning.
The importance of utilizing nature is recognised in our learning and through the purchasing of resources and sustainable awareness reflects in our ability to promote an environmentally rich program.
We recognise that outdoors is a valuable part of learning and promotes health and wellbeing both physically and mentally.
Our practice is guided by the Victorian Early Years Development Framework (2009) and The National Early Years Learning and Development Framework (2009) to provide documentation, planning, practice and critical reflection within our curriculum to focus on the individual needs and families within our community.
Community
We value our Kindergarten community and strive to incorporate children, families and the community in our everyday practices and experiences. Indigenous values are respected and acknowledged.
Professional
As Early Childhood Professionals we are committed to continuous self-improvement and professional development and through critical reflection we are able to constantly improve and grow as professionals.
